Please note our skills assessment location has moved to the Middle School
All players are encouraged to attend the Skills Assessment on Monday, November 11th at the Lehighton Middle School gym. The assessment will be split into two groups:
3rd/4th graders should arrive at 6:15 PM
5th/6th graders should arrive at 7:15 PM
The Skills Assessment, expected to last about 1-2 hours, will help determine appropriate team placements based on each player’s current skill level. Once teams are assigned, your child’s coach will reach out with the practice and game schedule.
Tryouts for the 5th/6th grade Schuylkill League travel team will also take place during the 5th/6th grade session. If your child is interested in trying out, please ensure they attend at 7:15 PM.
Practices will begin in mid-November, and games will start in December.
Travel Teams: we will have 2 travel teams this season competing in the regular season Schuylkill League. These teams will be 5th/6th grade boys’ and girls’. 1 of each.
Tryouts/Skills Assessment: All players—both travel and in-house will be asked to attend in order to create proper team selection and division placement.
Carbon (in house) League Overview:
Lehighton has worked with Jim Thorpe, Panther Valley, Palmerton, and St. Jerome’s to expand our in house program. In house league will now operate as the Carbon Youth Basketball League, enhancing local competition while keeping travel manageable. Players not on travel teams will compete in the Carbon Youth Basketball League. We will have a 3/4 grade division and a 5/6 grade divisions with an even distribution of players.
Coaches are always needed! If interested in coaching, you can sign up to volunteer through child registration. If available, please attend monthly booster club meetings as well.
Thank you
